The Boxcar Children

The Boxcar Children

Based on the classic series of 1920s children’s books by Gertrude Chandler Warner, The Boxcar Children tells the story of the four Alden siblings — Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny — who take to the road after they are orphaned. Arriving in a sleepy town one rainy night in search of shelter and food, the children happen upon an abandoned boxcar, which, with a little creativity and hard work, they gradually furnish with all the comforts of home. Fearful that they will be sent to live with the reputedly cruel grandfather they have never met, the children keep their new home a secret — until a serious illness forces them to reveal themselves in order to save young Violet.
